CAMPO PLANAS CORDOBA | Planas affirms that he works with a decalogue of measures to reduce tension in the field

He Minister of Agriculture, Luis Planasreported this Tuesday that the department he directs is working “very intensely” on the measures that can be applied to reduce the bureaucratic burden and the “suffocation” over which Spanish farmers are up in arms.

Planas has indicated that they are considering “up to 10 themes“, which are “very diverse in nature.” Among them he has put, for example, the Food Chain Lawthe issues related to the simplification of agricultural insurance and “other issues that we are working on” and that, effectively, will advance the employers’ organizations in the meeting to which they have been summoned.

In this regard, the Minister of Agriculture has indicated that he hopes to resume a dialog and a work rhythm that has never been broken despite protests. “We will continue the work,” she said.

Changes in the CAP

From this meeting, Planas hopes that a joint response will emerge regarding the Council of Ministers of the European Union that will be celebrated on next February 26. And where Spain is going to make proposals regarding simplification of the applications of the current Common Agricultural Policy, “an issue that is in high demand and which, evidently, is very complex to execute”, as it has pointed out.

He has also announced that he will call all the advisors of Agriculture of the different autonomies next Monday to “agree” on the proposal to modify the CAP that will be taken to Brussels. “We have to collect ideas and initiatives that allow us to defend a strong and united position of Spain before the EU”, stated the Minister of Agriculture.
