Innovation managers from six Andalusian universities visit the Hitachi Energy factory in Córdoba with CTA

In fact, CTA has already funded, through its incentive program, close to 790 R&D&i projects, in which 375 different public research groups have been subcontracted for more than 100 million euros.

The meeting was inaugurated by the president of CTA, Beltrán Pérez, and the general director of the Hitachi Energy factory in Córdoba, Francisco Bolaños, while the director of the center of Hitachi Energy technology, Marta Muñoz, has presented the R&D&i activity of Hitachi Energy in Spain and has described the innovation capabilities required by this company.

Factory in Córdoba

The Hitachi Energy transformer factory in Córdoba, founded in 1930is a pioneer in the manufacture of high-power transformers aimed at renewable energy parks, electrification of industries and high speed railway, among others. Currently, it has a staff of about 390 workers and a turnover of 142 million euros per year, of which between 70% and 80% come from exports to the whole world.

The factory houses one of the R&D centers of the Hitachi Energy Group, developing innovation projects, both for the Córdoba factory and for the rest of the group’s transformer factories in the world.

The R&D center is made up of a multidisciplinary team from different universities in Andalusia, collaborating with them in many of the projects developed and thus facilitating innovation in the products manufactured by Hitachi Energy.
