Rafa Sanchez, Alaska, Ainhoa ​​Arteta, Dioni (Camela), Leticia Sabater, Natalia Rodriguez, Jorge Gonzalez and Maria Pelaethese last two finalists of the ‘Benidorm Fest 2024’ will be part of the group of singers who will star in the inaugural episode of the new Spanish adaptation of the original BBC format.

Well-known politicians, singers, actors, comedians, athletes and journalists from the national scene will live the exciting and fun experience of participating in ‘El rival más pesada’, one of the most iconic contests in the world of entertainment, which will return to television with a renewed version by Telecinco and with Lujan Arguelles as presenter next Wednesday, September 4 (10:50 p.m.).

For the first time in Spain, the gaming show will feature the participation of renowned celebrities –who in each edition will share the same profession – in this adaptation of the original British format, produced by Mediaset España in collaboration with Brutal Media (‘El paisano’, ‘Bienvenidos a Eden’)

The contestants, for their part, will have to work together to accumulate as much money as possible in the pot as they overcome different rounds of questions, demonstrating their knowledge and mental agility, deploying their strategies and eliminating the weaker teammates until they reach the last phase, where the two finalists will fight in a decisive duel from which only one will emerge as the winner.

This is how ‘The Weakest Rival’ works

Get up to 50,000 euros for a charity This is the common goal shared by eight celebrities in each episode, who will have to cooperate to increase the amount of the prize. However, their path to victory will not be easy: they will have to show their cunning, intelligence and mental skill in this competition in which they will face various challenges and crucial decisions.

Over the course of seven rounds, contestants will work as a team to answer as many questions as possible in the allotted time. To advance in the game, they must correctly answer eight questions in a row, knowing that if one of the contestants fails, they will lose all the money they have accumulated and will have to start from scratch.

The strategy and tension will be present throughout the contest, in which any player can press the ‘Bank’ button before the presenter asks a question, an option that will allow them to save the money accumulated up to that point so as not to lose it if they fail. Their score will be reset to zero, but they will keep the amount they had accumulated in the pot.

In this challenge, only one of the contestants will achieve victory. Simultaneously and at the end of each round, the participants will vote for who they consider to be the ‘weakest rival’, who will be eliminated from the game after the presenter pronounces the legendary phrase of the format: “You are the weakest rival, Goodbye”.

Round after round, the contestants will be eliminated from the competition one by one until only two finalists remain. Both will face each other in an exciting face-to-face duel that will determine who will be the winner, taking home the accumulated prize.
