Currently, nearly 300,000 companies, micro-businesses and self-employed workers have already received help from the Kit Digital program. This is the case of the A Coruña SME Norquality Consultores, dedicated to the implementation of management systems that has 24 workers.
New open call: From September 12, communities of property, civil societies with commercial activity, professional civil societies and shared ownership agricultural holdings can also apply for aid.
Its managing partner, José Manuel Martínez, explains that they decided to request help from the Kit Digital program because they already had the digitalization of their company in mind. “The solutions implemented will improve the general management of the entire company,” says José Manuel.
The Digital Kit program is an initiative of the Government of Spain managed by Red.es, an entity attached to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation through the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. It is endowed with a budget of 3,067 million euros, financed by the European Union through the Next Generation EU funds, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which has the objective of digitizing SMEs and the self-employed with less than 50 employees, from all productive sectors throughout the national territory.
The Program also has the participation of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce as a collaborating entity.
Around 1,350 million for Spanish SMEs
To date, nearly 300,000 aids have been granted from the Digital Kit program, which means that around €1.35 billion of NextGenerationEU funds are in the hands of Spanish SMEs for their digitalization.
In Andalusia, nearly 52,000 digital vouchers have been granted and more than 218 million euros from NextGenerationEU funds have reached Andalusian SMEs to implement basic digitalization solutions.
The deadline to request help from Kit Digital in all its calls is open until December 31, 2024. The bonuses are €12,000, €6,000 and €2,000 depending on the number of workers the company or self-employed have.
If the applicant meets the requirements and the application is correct, the bonus is granted in 15 days.
If the applicant meets the requirements and correctly completes the form, in 15 days they will be granted the digital voucher that they can use in one or more solutions from a catalog made up of up to 12 categories of solutions, available at www.acelerapyme.es, such as They are: website and basic presence on the Internet, social network management, e-commerce, customer management, virtual office services and tools, business intelligence and analytics, process management, electronic invoice, secure communications, cybersecurity, advanced presence in internet and marketplace.
In the case of Norquality Consultores, they opted for solutions with great benefits for their business. “Secure connections to have direct communication with clients, work from client facilities, thanks to the VPN connection we work directly on our server. With this we optimize time, costs and paper reduction,” comments its managing partner.
Around 10,900 digitizing agents throughout Spain
Kit Digital has around 10,900 affiliated agents throughout Spain, of which 98% are small ICT companies. As is the case of Israel Contreras Martín, Project Manager at 1MB, a digitizing agent attached to Kit Digital who recognizes its benefits and the effectiveness of the program. “From my experience after many years in the sector, it is by far the best program of its type that I have been involved with. The amounts of the subsidies in most cases are adequate to cover the total amount of the project, the procedures are relatively simple, the control and justification processes somehow prevent fraud.” Membership in the Program will remain open throughout its duration.
Payments in less than 60 days, if the justification is correct.
The Program wanted to give a leading role to ICT SMEs to ensure that digitalization is maintained over time and improves the productivity of beneficiary companies and digitizing agents. In fact, in a survey carried out between February and April 2023 by Red.es among a sample of 4,400 digitizing agents, nearly 90% affirm that they will continue signing agreements and more than 50% have highlighted that Kit Digital has increased its turnover. . As Contreras Martín assures. “The overall experience is good, it has allowed us to increase business in that part of our services. The processes are quite clear.”
To date, more than 350,000 digital transformation projects for small and self-employed businesses have been launched nationwide thanks to the Kit Digital program.
The digitizing agent is responsible for implementing the technological solution in the SME or self-employed beneficiary of the digital voucher, and receives financial aid once they have correctly justified their work. Therefore, his responsibility is to implement the solution and justify his work to collect aid. This justification will be done by providing a series of evidence, defined in the bases, for each solution.
At this time, the maximum payment period for work performed, if the justification is correct, is 60 days. That is an unprecedented success in the management of public aid throughout Europe. Currently, 98% of the justifications presented more than 60 days ago have already been paid, and the rest are being corrected.
