The Pope does not read the homily prepared for the Palm Sunday mass

Pope Francis has not read the homily he had prepared for the Palm Sunday mass, the celebration with which the rites of Holy Week begin. At the opening of the ceremony held in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican, attended by more than 25,000 faithful, the pontiff showed a tired voice and at the end of the reading of the Gospel, when the homily was expected, he continued a prolonged silence after which one went directly to the creed. The pope’s decision to allow a time for personal reflection has been unexpected.
