The launch of the Miura 1 rocket, the prototype of the future satellite launcher of the Spanish company PLD Space, was carried out successfully this morning, thus managing to reach space in a test mission that consisted of placing itself at a suborbital height (80 kilometers of altitude) and land again over the waters of Huelva. With this achievement, Spain is positioned as one of the few countries with access to Space and will have the commercial capacity to place devices weighing up to 540 kilograms per trip in Earth orbit. This success comes after two failed attempts, the first due to the presence of winds. at altitude incompatible with the mission and the second due to a failure in the last second that registered a delay in the unhooking of the charging cables of the navigation systems.
