Ferrari has shown for the first time the new car with which it will participate in the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship. The concept of the car does not seem to change drastically compared to its predecessor, although the much wider nose stands out. The pontoons are narrower and more floating, following the line of what was seen yesterday in the new Aston Martin and the Red Bull style.
The SF-24 will be the car of the 75th season of Ferrari, present in the World Championship since its inception in 1950. The Prancing Horse cars are the most successful in history, although they have not won a drivers’ title since Kimi Raikkonen achieved it in 2007, while the last constructors’ World Championship came in 2008.
Frédéric Vasseur, former director of Renault and Alfa Romeo in Formula 1, faces his second season in Maranello and it will not be easy for him to manage the team once Carlos Sainz already knows that this is going to be his last year in red before the arrival of Lewis Hamilton in 2025.
Charles Leclerc He will want to vindicate himself and show the Scudería that the million-dollar bet on Hamilton was not necessary, while Sainz will have to do the same to look for the best possible steering wheel for the next season. The traditional filming day to put the SF-24 on the track, extended to a maximum of 200 kilometers by regulation, will take place this Tuesday, February 13 on the Fiorano track, as already happened in 2023. It will be the debut of the car before travel to Bahrain to participate in the three days of preseason testing of Formula, from February 21 to 23. Just one week later, from February 29 to March 2, the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship will begin with the Bahrain Grand Prix, also at the Sakhir circuit.
