Israel claims to have killed senior Hamas member in Rafah

The Israeli Army claimed today to have killed a high-ranking member of the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, in the Rafah area, in the south of the Gaza Strip, whom it identified as Ahmed Eliakubi.

According to a military statement, Eliakubi was in charge of ensuring the security of senior Hamas leaders and worked as a senior commander in the Rafah district.

In the attack, the Army also killed a senior Hamas military officer, which it identified as Iman Rantisi, as well as another member of the group.
