Puigdemont: “A democratic State would send the perpetrators of ‘Operation Catalonia’ to prison”

The former president of the Generalitat Carles Puigdemont has assured that “any democratic State would undertake forceful actions to send the intellectual authors and Messrs. X” of ‘Operation Catalonia’ to prison.

In a message on X, Puigdemont responded to the statements of the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaskain which he assured that “the patriotic police have been the biggest cancer of the rule of law in matters of State Security Forces and Corps.”

The ‘Catalonia operation’ refers to the alleged existence since 2012 of an organization made up of members of the Police, the Government of Mariano Rajoy and the PP that carried out practices against Catalan independentists.

“With the information available, known by judges who coincidentally do not lift a finger, any democratic State would undertake forceful actions to send the masterminds and all Mr. a real plot, and this is a threat to democracy. Also to European democracy, because a cancer in the rule of law in one of its member countries dynamites the foundations of the European Union,” the former president said in X .
