The accusation against Vicente Belda in the Maynar case for doping in cycling is archived

The Court of Instruction number 3 of Cáceres that investigates the Maynar case doping in professional cycling has issued a provisional dismissal order for former cyclists Vicente Belda, Luis Vicente Otin and Ángel Vázquez due to lack of evidence indicating that they committed the alleged crimes of which they had been accused, as reported by sources from the Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura to El Periódico de España, from the Prensa Ibérica Group.

The decision of the head of the Court of Instruction number 3 of Cáceres, Aída María de la Cruz de la Torre, comes after the Public Prosecutor’s Office has requested the file for these three former cyclists, continue the aforementioned sources, which show that the case continues for the rest of those investigated.

The research developed by the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard attributed to Vicente Belda and his son, Vicente Belda García, the role of intermediaries and attractors of clients of the network of doping allegedly headed by doctor Marcos Maynar, another of those investigated, who was arrested in May 2022 accused of trafficking in unauthorized medications in Spain.

The scion of the former Kelme runner worked, until the so-called ‘Operation Ilex’ became known, as a masseuse in Astana Qazaqstana top category cycling club (World Tour) that fired him suddenly.
