The Barenboim-Said Foundation will teach in Cordova an introductory course to music with the aim of bringing boys and girls closer to the instrumental universe and awakening their interest in music. This course will be held from March 25 to 27, coinciding with the school holidays Easter week, in it Professional Conservatory of Music of Córdoba Musician Ziryab, thanks to the collaboration of this educational center. Registrations can be made through the Foundation website from Wednesday, February 14 at 10 a.m.
This course is aimed at schoolchildren born between 2012 and 2017 (enrolled in primary education in the 2023/24 academic year). To enroll, it is not necessary to have prior musical training, since during the course the Foundation’s teaching staff will teach a playful way focused on the ages of the attendees elementary notions of musical education and basic knowledge of piano, violin and percussion technique, as well as musical expression.
Conciliation during vacations
The course will be taught by specialist teachers in children’s musical education from the Barenboim-Said Foundation in hours from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. With this initiative, the foundation also aims to contribute to the family and work conciliation during school holidays, making it available to families a free morning classroom from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and the collection will take place between 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
The registration fee is 30 euros per participant, although the Foundation offers 100% tuition bonuses to families with both parents or single parents who can prove unemployment, as well as a 15% discount for brothers and sisters.
This is the third time that the Barenboim-Said Foundation has organized this activity in Córdoba, where since 2008 He teaches music classes daily in four schools in the capital as part of the Children’s Musical Education Project in Andalusia.
The Barenboim-Said Andalusian Public Foundation, attached to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, develops its activities in Andalusia and Palestine with the aim of promoting musical education as part of the comprehensive training of boys, girls and young people, and encouraging spirit of peace, dialogue and reconciliation through music.
